2.4 Billion Grant on Car Battery Research

About $2.4 billion in grants will be allocated by the Obama administration to companies that will research and develop car batteries and hybrid technology.

Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler, will be the biggest beneficiary of the aid. They will receive more than $400 million for research and development of the green energy resources. This was also meant to create more jobs and reduce the reliance of the country on foreign oil.
