My five year old daughter recently had a birthday party. She was allowed to invite her class from school and we went the the skating rink. I tried to make it clear to parents that a gift really wasn't necessary as she already got presents from myself and her grandparents on her actual birthday during the week.Apparently no one got the memo though because every child came armed with a brightly colored package.
