These guy created conditions hot enough to make the Li-On battery pack in the laptop to explode. These fires can actually occur in conditions in real life.

Faulty battery packs(driving the recalls), faulty protection circuits inside the PC, blunt force and exposure to excessive heat are some major ways this could happen to you.
