Battery technology may be somehow improving. According to Strategy Analytics, battery capacity grows at about 4 percent every year. However, added features of smartphones, such as web browsing, texting, and navigation, have all added to the demand for energy use. As such, the increase in battery capacity is no match for the demand.
All in all, it is expected that the time we can go without batteries are expected to shrink by 5 percent annually.
