droplight melted a hole in battery - can it be repaired?
On 02/11/09 19:28, Michael toerber asked the following question:
I have a 2001 chevy cargo van and had a friend replace the radiator recently. In doing so, he damaged the battery by resting a droplight on it and melting a hole in it about 3 1/2" around on top but away from the terminals . The battery is brand new , a 1 month old Bosch (better than average) battery. He claims he can repair it with epoxy or something like that - and says it's worse than it looks . Can it really be repaired by someone or should I just tell him to replace it? I've never heard of this happening to a battery before or of it being repaired after such an incident and am not aware of any repercussions of a repair of this type. What should I do?
